Alerts and Sounds are Low Volume

Recently upgraded (ya, ya, downgraded) to VISTA and had to install Messenger again to get my email alerts.

I noticed I wasn't getting any sounds when receiving messages so I turned up the volume and heard it barely audible on the next one.

Some sounds were normal volume when I picked them from the Browse feature but some were muted.

I then installed a Beta 9 version (uninstalled 8.01) and now I can hear them better but still not at full volume..

Also, couldnt find any sounds for email alerts in Vista version.. bummer

Any ideas?

HI, I'm using msn live messenger throug a shared connection over a LAN. It works normally exept I cannot make vidoe calls. The webcam works normally when I set it up using tools.

Hey Guys!!

Need help big time... ive never had this problem before until i got MSN Live and also change my email address from hotmail.com to hotmail.co.uk.. dont know whether thats contributed to the problem but anywys.. when i appear offline and a friend of mine speaks to me.. sometimes i dont recieve them and when i next log in they are in my Email inbox.... not only that but when friends send me offline messages they go straight to my email and its really annoying. I have tried to change the settings and then put them back... even unistalled messenger but again nowt seems to change. Would appreciate it if someone could get back if they can solve the problem or have a problem like mine. Cheers

chat box problem

hello all!

when i type a message and click send in yahoo messenger, i do not see the message in the chat box, like wise when someone sends me a message through the im i do not see it in the chat box. Please help me out. What do i need to do to get it to work properly. It wasn't that way previously. I uninstalled and installed again but it still isn't working properly.

WLM Runs slow!

I just got my new laptop, an intel C2D T7250 @ 2 ghz, 4 gb ram 667 mhz, and a geforce 8600 GS, and it was preinstalled with vista. WLM ran smoothly on there, but now after my format, it's running slow, like on my old pc with a sllow congifuration, it's with a lot of hesitation. i really dont like this, can anyone help me out with this please? it's driving me insane!

Another 6.0 problem

It worked for a while after I downloaded it, but then it kinda **** the bed. In my IM window, where the conversation text should be, instead of getting the text I get this followed by a bunch of code

Ive already tried uninstalling/reinstalling and the only way I can use AIM is if I go back to version 5. Anybody got any ideas?

Windows Live Messenger win2003 does not login

Recently and out of the sudden this problem happened, I can not login to Windows Live Messenger on the laptop (win2003).

I uninstalled Windows Live Messenger and reinstall it again same problem.

I uninstalled Windows Live Messenger, and install V7.5 same problem.

I have added someone on Yahoo Messenger but that person denied my friend request. Ok ...no problem :) When i log in from YM 8.1...that person of course doesn't appear in my both contants list(address book) and messenger id list.
When i use the browser verison, from email...that someone appears in my contact list....and i even see him online...when in fact he appears to yahoo profiles to be invisible. So...did that person added me or not to his contacts list...it's a bit strange...how can i see him online when in fact he's invisible and he might not even added me to his list? That's pretty curious :)

I do not use aim, but someone keeps texting me via aim. Is it possible to email people from aim to a verizon phone? I know that it can be done through a VoIP service provider, but never heard through instant messaging. whenever i reply back, I always get:

After BBB providing help to solve a few previous problems ive had i thot this is the place to turn to again!
So, this is my problem;

Basicly for the past few days ive been having a huge problem where i lose everything on my desktop and also my tool bar.
The main problem is that 'explore.exe' does not appear during start up and when i try to run it via the task manager it will only stay for about.. 30 seconds and then sometimes it was flash up a few times but eventualy disapears after a few minutes..
My dad has been working on this the past few days and he tried running some scripts which did help at one point where it looked like everything was fixed but then after restarting the computer we are faced with the same problem over again! When we did manage to have explore.exe running another problem occured, all the icons that should load in the task bar (next to the clock) do not appear and it is vital they do as the likes of Nortan security needs to load so i can turn on the firewall.

Right now im left clueless, we have tried diffrent sugestions from several forums but nothing has stayed perminant and fixed the problem so i would be very greatfull if anyone reading this has any idea at all.
