Hey everyone, I also had the same problem on my sisters laptop, I first got the error message "invalid drive E:", and afterwards error 1603, I tried the solutions on this site, but they didn't work, Since my sister laptop doesn't have a drive E, but only A through D, there was no way to install msn, but I learned that she sometimes used a memorycard, which when plugged in was labeled as "removable drive E:", I simply plugged in the memory card and tried to install msn again, and it worked, afterwards I tried to run without the card and it worked perfectly. So when you get this error, you probably have (or had) a portable HD or a memorycard installed on your computer. The solution is to plug in this device and install, or when you don't have this hardware anymore, just loan one. Maybe you should try to uninstall the removable drive and msn will install too, I havent tried this so maybe you should too!
I hope I have helped you guys! greetz Nathan
