I have spent sooooo much time researching why I can't get sound in the chatrooms. I almost think I'm onto something now...and maybe it is affecting your computers also. If you open Internet Explorer and go to Tools and to Internet Options to Advanced and scroll down to the next thing below HTTP1. Do you have anything there that ends in VM? As in Java Virtual Machine? If not, that could be your problem. I have XP Pro... got it in Jan 2004. If you go to Microsoft's page on Java and check that out, I think that's the problem. As of January, JVM is not available and it's being phased out. So if you have programs that still need it to run, they won't run properly. On that website it talks about downloading Sun Java, which I did in January to get into the old version of yahoo chat. I have my options set to use Sun, but it's not doing the trick.
