it seems AIM/AOL has upgraded the TOC protocol as i've seen people calling it
TOC2.
http://forums.miranda-im.org/showthread.php?p=28659 shows where to get the TOC2 plugin for
miranda im.
here is one OCX/control (usually used for Visual Basic programing) by
arub that you can use to connect to "TOC2" servers:
ArubSocktoc 2
[s]it also seems as if
gaim will support it in it's next version (as far as i can tell, which seems impressive already).[/s] some say gaim has never supported TOC even though it is listed on the
protocols page of the gaim site.
adium already supports TOC2 (maybe?).
http://naimdoc.net/index.php/TOC_Issues explains how to connect to TOC2 using naim.
in other words it's probably not the server's fault (maybe AOL/AIM broke TOC1 or they
upgraded to TOC2) it's your client's.

19:19 <+someone> I don't see why anyone would bother implementing toc2 except in cases where the only AIM protocol supported by some client is toc (like Miranda)
