If YOU have a webcam installed on YOUR computer and if its unsecure it can be accessed by ANYONE, ANYWHERE!
In fact an unsecure webcam does not even need a trojan horse on your computer to exploit it. Even moreso here is the scary part - knowing what keywords to type into Google.com can produce results of thousands of unsecure webcams all across the world. Some of these webcams are public and meant to be viewed by anyone while others are private but unsecure. A stalker with access can move the cam around at their leasure, change resolution, brightness and darkness, and take screenshots - Pretty much anything the owner of the camera can do a person online can do!
Q: So what can one do to protect their webcam?
A1: Turn it off and cover the lens when not in use! (Webcam basics 101!)
A2: I will try to find links and resources on how to secure a webcam that is on if I can or if you know please post - I have never owned a webcam so a solution I can provide would not be the best source.

Thanks so much for your valuable information you have shared with us.
I have small inquiry though. When I am on cam I usually keep an eye on the number of viewers and it's usually one person who i talk with. Is that enough to be secured while we are on line.
Other wise I always log off and disconnect from internet when I don't use it.
It would be so helpful if anyone helped me correcting my thoughts!
