i keep getting a pop up - active update - aol core services - software update

there is also a view history link that when clicked on shows date /time/ description (softwre update) type (mandatory) when i hightlight it I can delete it put the main popup comes up again later.

aol tech says its not from them. Aim dosent have tech that i know of.

I want to make sure this isnt spyware(i already ran mcafee and spysweeper)

does this sound familiar to anyone
