2nd posting here: Against my own better judgement and my own advice I installed that damn AOL update 4-8-06.First you get about 5 new AOL programs/files, ok,then everything seems to be working fine.Next time I start my pc,my icon for my non-AOL Isp.(internet service provider) in the system tray is gone; never happened before- has the new AOL files so greedy/jealous that they sabotage/eliminate the competion??

I used to have AOL as bundled with most new pc's, but I stopped of course and switched to something else. Now the fun begins, I can't connect to the internet and then everything freezes on my pc. For sh*t. Last resort I pull the pc's plug; yes that one. Restart.Samething happens again-everything freezes,I pull the plug again.Freak AOL. Third try I get back to normal which is that I created a "Restore Point" before I installed that damn AOL update.Result: those 5 new Aol files are gone and that damned AOL update reminder is finally gone, too. Yippie

Advice: don't install untill we/you/I have more intel/confirming such updates validity and stability and importantly create a "Restore Point" before installing questionable items. Hope I have been helpful to the rest of you'se still with that damn AOL update on your machine, remember mine is just only one experience; there may be more who have successfully installed- thou there not telling.Keep posting- positive or negative outcomes.4-11-06
