keeping in mind, what Evilseph and Jeff have already told you. I found some helpful configurations that may come in handy.
To configure Super Webcam:
Click the Messenger menu in Messenger and select Preferences.
Click the Super Webcam category.
You can enable Super Webcam to perform one of the following:
Start Super mode automatically.
Ask me if I want to start Super mode.
When I am broadcasting in Super mode ignore other view requests.
Enable your desired option and click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
You will automatically be prompted when Super Webcam becomes available. When prompted, you have the following options:
Click on the Yes button to start Super Webcam only for that session.
Click on the Yes, Always button to start Super Webcam whenever available.
Click on the No button if you don't want to start Super Webcam.
There are several reasons why Super Webcam may not be working. Please review the possible reasons:
Both you and your friend must be using version 5.5 or higher.
Both you and your friend must be on a broadband connection.
You may be trying to allow more then one friend to view your Super Webcam at a time. Super Webcam works with only one friend at a time.
A firewall on your computer or your friend's computer may be causing problems. Super Webcam needs to establish a direct connection between the broadcaster and viewer. Your webcam statistics will tell you what type of connection you can establish.
Please make sure you are using the No proxies connection setting. To select this setting:
Click the Messenger menu in Messenger and select Preferences.
Click the Connection category.
Select the No proxies option.
Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
Close Messenger completely and start the program again. This should eliminate this error message.
If you are unable to connect using the No proxies option please reverse your changes and make sure your firewall is configured correctly. Your firewall must permit outgoing TCP connections on port 5100. Please make the following changes to your firewall:
Protocol: TCP
Server: webcam.yahoo.com
Port: 5100
Most companies networks are located behind a firewall and some also use a proxy. Most Internet service providers (ISPs) don't have firewalls or proxies, but you should contact your network administrator or ISP for accurate information.
