Heres how it worked: You finally go out and see that movie you've been wanting to see. So, you're sitting there, right, and all of a sudden, you -think- you saw some words flash on the screen. "Did I just see... No, it's my imagination." After a while, you see it a few times. Then, you feel thirsty all of a sudden. "Hey I think I'll go get a Drink!"

The Movie theaters blended in phrases such as "YOU ARE THIRSTY" and "YOU ARE HUNGRY" to get potential movie-watchers to buy drinks and snacks from their concession stands to make more money, untill the F.C.C. caught up on it, BAN. It was pretty effective while it lasted.
