Web-based IM eMessenger has been rebranded as
eBuddy. According to Michael Arrington at
TechCrunch, the popular Europe-based eBuddy has secured a round of VC funding from a top-tier company, putting it in a good position to do battle with US-based
Meebo.
Both eBuddy and Meebo support AIM, MSN/WLM, Yahoo and ICQ instant messaging. Meebo adds support for Jabber clients (including Google Talk), while eMessenger offers support for mobile phones.
Both are great solutions for a no-install, browser-based IM client -- useful in the office or at the internet cafe.
