Member of the Month - June 2006

This month I would like to announce that this month’s winner is EliteNick, who has been a long standing member of BBB for a couple of years now. The votes were cast and it was decided by the staff to give Nick this month’s honour.

Here is what he had to say:

How did you find BigBlueBall?
My friend UnSaKreD (maker of the famous "Buddy Spy") was on the forums a and gave me links to topics he was interested in daily...and eventually I decided to sign up
What keeps you coming back?
The little message that says "Hey you lurking around! We know you're busy but how about logging in and making a post or two". Haha. I love that. Also when the forums email me to let me know someone responded to a topic I was taking part in, or when something happens to my favorite IM program - I know the first place to look is BigBlueBall! I also love helping people in general, and BBB is a great place to do that.
How did you come up with EliteNick as your username?
When I had my first .com website, people would go into chatrooms and claim they were the owner of it, and other dumb stuff like that. People kept doing that even when I renamed the site, so I decided to make a domain with my name in it. I couldn't come up with anything better than EliteNick at the time, and decided to go ahead and buy it. Now I am finding all of these sites called Elite(name here).com, and it just makes me laugh. I don't think I'm "elite", but I'm not changing my nickname or site name again for search engine purposes. Name changes aren't fun. >_>
How long have you been using computers?
A long long time. Started back in middle school when I had no life and found the internet . I'd say since I was 13 or 14.
How long have you been instant messaging?
Since I was 15 or 16. Didn't really get into it at first. People scared me.
What's your preferred instant messenger?
Yahoo! IM. Although I always use AIM too just because it's where all my real life friends are. I mostly talk to people who don't live anywhere near me on Yahoo!
Why?
I just love it...it's fast loading, looks good, and it's the first one I started with. Plus, it USED to have chat rooms, and that's where I met most of my friends on Yahoo! now. I mean, compare it to AIM (not Triton). Comon' now. AIM had rooms but they were all full of porn bots. AIM doesn't even come close. Haha. MSN/Windows Live is pretty nice...but I really had no incentive to use it. I only now use it for testing purposes.
What's your favorite BigBlueBall section...:
Yahoo! Messenger Support, no doubt
...and why?
I love Yahoo! and I love helping anybody out who's having problems with it. I've been using it FOREVER and I know a lot about it. I remember back when it first got it's own skins - I was amazed! Hehe.
Anything else you would like to add?
I'm glad I got this! BigBlueBall I'll be sure to sport my BBB shirt at my technical college. I'm sure they'll all know what it is . Oh and be sure to visit my site, www.EliteNick.com
Thanks EliteNick I loved to plug at the end for your website! Great interview, congratulations and we hope you like your t-shirt… wear it with pride at college

Just a note to say that it has been decided by the staff that if you are a Premier Member, then we are going to expand our voting system for this award. From this month I will be going to the Premier Members section and asking you to choose a member who you feel deserves this award.

Cheers! Thanks again EliteNick
