It's hard for me to relate to stories of people being duped by online contacts since I remember thinking at a very young age that typing and pictures are not sufficient conditions to know who you're really talking to. Even voice and video can be forged, although they can start to get you closer to the truth.

Taking a different spin on your cartoon though - I get a kick out of the situations where an adolescent online "couple" meets in real life, and they don't know how to act, so they just part ways and reconvene online
