Ahoihoi

Posted by ridv34 ridv34 is offline on 05-14-2007, 09:48 AM

Maurizio of Versoworks and creator of Messenger:Mate has just unveiled his newest creation: Ahoihoi, one of the first stand alone programs created with the new AIM API. I have a copy and I think the program has a lot of potential. If you use AIM a lot it is definitely worth to check it out or keep an eye on. Link

What do you think about it?

First impression? The man watches too much TV. I had flashes of Mr. Burns answering the telephone just then.

You know, I was about to say "yeah, like anyone would pay $10 for a client that even the author admits has "a lot of growing up to do," but then I looked at the screen shots. It actually looks exactly like what I want in an IM client..which is so rare. I'll be interested in where this goes.

I can tell you all that this is so much better then AIM. It is fast and nice on the eyes. There are feature requests being posted on the forums multiple times daily, and very quick response to bug reports. Worth the $10 to be involved in creating something great. Check it out for yourselves!

Messenger:Mate was incredible. I can only guess this will be just as good.
