Poynt local search reaches AIM

Canadian-based Multiplied Media Corporation has launched an AIM-compatible version of their Poynt local search service. Previously available only on Windows Live Messenger, Poynt is an IM bot that lets you search for local businesses using your favorite instant messaging program (as long as your favorite is WLM or AIM).

Poynt delivers the full listings from Superpages.com, the publisher of Verizon's Yellow Page directory. To use the service, just add the screen name 'Poynt' to your buddy list and send it a message.

Poynt will ask you to specify your search locale, enter keywords for the business or service you need and send the results via IM (listed by proximity).
