There's another way to sign on to AIM if you have Verizon Wireless.

Send a text message to one of the following:

AIM-SignOn 4646 Sign On: Use to sign on to the AIM service. Send a text message using the format screenname (space) password to this number. If your screen name contains spaces, do not include them. Your password is case-sensitive.

AIM-SignOff 4647 Sign Off: Use to sign off the AIM service. Send a blank text message (or type the word “off” if necessary) to this number.

AIM-Add 4648 Add Buddy: Use to add a screen name to your Buddy List. Send a text message specifying the screen name to this number.

AIM-Delete 4649 Delete Buddy: Use to delete a screen name from your Buddy List. Send a text message specifying the screen name to this number.

AIM-Buddies 4650 Buddy List: Use to get a list of your buddies and their status. Send a blank text message (or type the word “list” if necessary) to this number.

AIM-SetAlert 4651 Set Alert: Use to set a permanent alert when a buddy comes on-line. Send a text message specifying the screen name to this number. To remove the alert, send a text message specifying the screen name to this number again.

AIM-Block 4652 Block Messages: Use to block messages from another AIM user. Send a text message specifying the screen name to this number.

AIM-Settings 4653 Settings: Use to get a list of your AIM commands, Buddy List screen names, and their IM numbers. Send a blank text message (or type the word “help” if necessary) to this number.

AIM-SendTo 4654 Send To: Use to start a conversation with other AIM users who are not saved in your Buddy List. Send a text message using the format screenname: message to this number. To receive a list of screen names with their temporary IM numbers, send a blank text message (or type a space if necessary) to this number.

AIM-Mobile 4655 Mobile: This command is used by the system only.

AIM-Allow 4656 Allow: Use to remove a block from a screen name. Send a text message specifying the screen name to this number.

AIM-Unlisted1 through AIM-Unlisted5: 4631-4635 Send Unlisted: Temporary IM numbers assigned to screen names not saved in your Buddy List. These numbers are automatically assigned when you receive a message from an unlisted AIM user. To send a new message to the screen name, send a text message to this number. (Note: If the screen name sends you a message, you don't need to specify this number—just use Reply.)
