How do I fix Mobile IM? Does yours do this?

Mobile IM stopped working when I had my previous version of AIM, (5.3?)several weeks ago; despite no changes to the AIM settings by myself. I just stopped receiving messages to my phone when I was signed off of my computer. I haven't received one since December through my screenname. I then found out through signing on under another Screenname, that instead of leaving online with the phone icon next to the name, as the program used to do, now it has me not online at all.

I went to Prefs, and clicked on mobile IM, and my number was turned on, no settings were changed. Also, under privacy, I have the check box checked to allow people to see when I'm using a mobile device.

It still wasn't working. I logged on under a second screename to check, and my original screename was not online with the phone icon, nor when manually entering my original screenname under who to send an IM to, did it work. AIM said "<screename> is unavailable."

I then deleted the whole number from the Mobile IM setup, and started over; I did get the confirmation IM, and entered this number in, and the setup screen said, "Congratulations..." and said it was set up.

It still wasn't working.

I then went to AIM, realized there was a new version, upgraded to the newest version, 5.5.3572, thinking that I had too old a version for the mobile im to work;

It still does not work; I would like to have my mobile IM work again. I realize it will only be one-way as it used to be because my provider does not provide 2-way text messaging, but I would still like to have it working as it used to.

Any ideas anyone? I look forward to your responses.

are you trying to log on to your screen name using your phone or have your IM's forwarded to your phone?

Hi,
I'm trying to have Mobile IM forward IMs to my phone; it is text message capable but not two-way text capable.

The forward service used to work, but in december it stopped working for this screenname even though the mobile IM site says it's still turned on for this screenname. Does this help clarify?
Thanks!
