Got kicked off for running an obsolete version?!

About 10 minutes ago I got kicked off aim, and when I tried to sign on again a "Software Upgrade Required" window poped up and said "you are running an obsolete Version of AIM. In order to sign on, you must first upgrade your software to the latest version." then gave me the option to upgrade or exit.

So now Im reluctantly upgrading to 5.5 even though I loved my 5.2 beta from months ago that I never wanted to upgrade cause I never had problems with it!

Anyone else encounter this today?

Do you know what versoin of the bata you had?...cuz my 5.1 does that now...i wonder if some other versoin works(other than 5.5) or if you have to up grade

I dont remember which beta I had but it was one of the first for 5.2
After installing 5.5 and dealing with it for a few hours, I tried my luck at oldversion.com and downloaded 5.2.3292
Its working and there's no problems signing on.
Im stickin' with 5.2 for as long as I can

I have 5.2.3292, and it works fine. No upgrades needed.

ok, so as I stated before, my new version of 5.2 is running great.

So now the question is, how do I get rid of everything associated with 5.5 ... can some kind soul tell me exactly what crap was installed and what I should remove without deleting anything important.
