Was just forced to upgrade, and need some help.
For some reason, when I recieve an IM in a window that's out of focus, the task bar no longer flashes. I looked in the prefs. section, and found a setting for chat rooms, but not private IM conversations. Is this a bug or glitch in the latest AIM version, or was this something that was removed on purpose? If it was removed on purpose, is there anything I can get, as far as a patch or something, to make my previous version of AIM no longer obsolete?
Thanks in advance. |

This happens to me too, when I use the latest version.
I am not sure what it is, but other people are known to notice this too. It really is annoying, having a convo and minus it only to let it sit for 2 hours not thinking they are IMing you back when you found they have IMed thousands of times and signed off, right in the middle of a good convo! Try Downgrading bck to 5.2 (A lot better) www.oldversion.com AIM_User Using AIM V. 5.5.3572 Also Using Trillian Pro V. 2.40 Windows 2000 (Laptop) 190 Available RAM |

I've never used that before, so not having it isn't the problem. The last AIM version I used was 5.2, and the button would blink, then.
EDIT: Well I managed to find a version of AIM that isn't obsolete, and the task bar still isn't flashing, so I have no clue what's wrong. EDIT (again): I've even done a system restore, and it still won't flash! My friend, who is using the exact same version of AIM as I am (5.2.3292), has the flashing task bar button, but not me. I've uninstalled DeadAIM, and no change. AIMUtation has the feature and all, but AIMUtation also just generally sucks ass. |
