Palfun release

Apr,9 - Palfun version 6.5 released.

Palfun is feature enhancer plug-in for AOL (R) Instant Messenger (tm). It can help you to modify your Instant Messenger on your choice, making your conversations easier and more comfortable.

This program was known before as AIM-Plus. Now it is renamed.

New features:
  • Buddy aliasing
  • Windows 98/ME partial compatibility
  • Several known bugs were fixed
Note: nether AIM-Plus nor Palfun did not and do not contain any spyware/adware or other potential harmful elements.

You can download it from http://palfun.com/

Sorry, I had not enough time to visit forums before, but now I can answer some your old/new question about AIM-Plus & Palfun.

1. This program is a rip of AIMutation!
If you say this, please provide more information, not only “I haven’t seen this program before release of AIMutation source code!”. The skin engine (main reason of this rumors) is NOT based on AIMutation skins, and NO AImutation code is used to develop this project. By the way, public release of AIMutation source code was on Feb-6 and AIM-Plus 6.2 (this is not first release, first release with skinning was made in December 2003) was released Feb-10. Do you think we have enough time to steal/modify/rip/rebuild AIMutation source code and add several our own original features?

2. Why I haven’t heard about this program before?
We don’t want to do this like Fixer with Otsego (do you remember this unreleased program?). We do not promise anything, just do what we can. Program was developed, but not enough time was spent for promoting. Even now, I’ve just placed some information about this program at some AIM sites. But if you were interesting of this project some times ago, you could find link to this site from search engines even from 2003. Times ago this was only small project for de-adding and some customizing AIM, which has no own site and hasn’t even own name.

3. AIM-Plus sounds like AIM+!
That’s why we are called now Palfun

If you still have any questions – I would like to answer them here or at palfun's forum (http://palfun.com/forum/)

In my vocabulary, AIM Plus was synonomous with spyware. I never got AIM Plus to work for me. Those that did had problems. Is this compatible with AIM 5.5? It says with the latest version, but under system req. I see AIM 5.2...what's the deal?

Edit: Well now that I tried to install it wants the older version of 5.5 before the revised it. Again, that isn't the latest: what's the deal?

Besides the fact that It puts in some low quality icon in place of AOL's House link to their website, its pretty good. I like the XP skin. All previous problems seemed to have been fixed. I still prefer Aimutation though, It has more features and doesn't add an extra menu, icon, etc.

EDIT: It started giving me the same missing BMP error last time I used this. DONT USE IT.

1. Information at download page of site contains minimal requirements.
2. Working with latest AIM 5.5.3583 was fixed just now. You can update or download it again.

Pal Fun is clearly associated with Spyware. Whatever happened to Alex the last spokesman for aim-plus / palfun. Instead he seems to have hired someone from Eastern Europe to take over the illegal wheeling and dealing.

As with any thing associated with spyware it would not be a good idea to use them with progs that are used for personal convo this is common sense.

lol Anyone notice since aim-plus became known as pal-fun it all of a sudden moved from one fake address in London accross the atlantic to another fake address in the USA. Baslik clearly is not from the USA, there are all sorts of lies and scams going on.

Pal Fun International
305 West Broadway
New York, NY 10013
US
(info from whois report)

If you check the whois info for the domains AIM-plus.com and Palfun.com, they hold yet another dark truth. They are hosted by and funded by SPAWNET.COM. Spawnet.com is a well known spyware affiliate and an illegal software distributor. It is known to be affiliated to LOP.com (a known spy-ware firm), C2media (yet another spyware firm). This means potentially anything, while it may or may not contain spyware, palfun could be a means of capturing email-addresses, this is within the terms and conditions for palfun.

I'm glad someone knew how to look into that... It just seemed so fishy from the start.

Wow! Nice! By the way, where in whois written about funding of this project by SPAWNET.COM?

Such topic was started already at Palfun forum (http://palfun.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15), but nothing except our hosting by spawnet.com was proved (by the way, this fact nobody is hiding).

If you do not want to answer on my forum, answer here on several questions:
1) Where is in whois report or in Palfun site written about project funding by any spyware affiliate?
2) Can you give me a link to any spyware detector (online or program), defining Palfun as spyware?
3) Can you show me any inbound or outgoing connections to your computer initiated by Palfun (except update requests)?
4) What kind of your private information (except IMs and chats - this is Palfun feature ) is stored by Palfun at your computer?
5) You don't like me or Palfun software? Because all your last postings only about spyware in my program.

That's all I want to know.
