Can someone see that I added them to my buddy list
I am new to AIM. I added 2 friends to my buddy list. They did not know I had joined AIM or what my screen name was. I emailed one of them and told her and she said "Oh I was wondering who that was" She said my screen name popped up somewhere in her AIM window -I'm not sure where.

The other person is someone I recently broke up with and just wanted to see when he got online, etc. but did not want him to know I joined AIM or put him on my buddy list. Is there a way I can keep my screen name from popping up on his window?

That's what I thought, but my girlfriend (the other buddy I added) said she saw my screen name pop up on her computer and she was wondering who that was. She shouldn't have seen that?

Maybe she searched on "Find a buddy by e-mail address" and she entered your email address and got your screen name?
