Friends that are online aren't?

ok my friend has two AIM names.

Now I am speaking to a mutal friend of both of us and she told me that he is on his latest IM name (which I haven't gotten working yet)

Now I know he's on (we post at a message board it shows him searching the forums same as me)

But when I try to IM him. It says he's unavailable.

He's using the Java AIM (which I've used a few times on school computers) and behind a very restrictive firewall.

I dont' think that these have ANYTHIGN to do with me not being able to see him online or anything with either account.

What is wrong?

I had that happen before also,with some people using AOL........

Come to find out they were DENYING MY MESSAGE,and as a result,i got a NOT ONLINE MESSAGE (Parants of a friend who didnt know me) Sounds like what you could be experiencing..........

Nope.

He wouldn't deny my messages.

his older nick name is still on my buddy list and I know mine is still on his.

We just can't find out why I'm not showing up on his and vice versa as being online and available to talk to

I think he just put it so nobody could talk to him unless that person was on his list...

Why would it still tell me that he's unavailable
