Older version refuses to work
I recently purchased a new notebook computer. One of the first programs I downloaded and installed was aim (i suppose the newest version, from their website). Recently I have decided that I would rather use the version of aim I had on my other computer, version 5.2.3139. I uninstalled the newest version of aim and attempted the installation of the aforementioned older version. After the installation and I double click on the aim icon and type my screen name and password in and try to connect, the connection is interrupted with a window that tells me that there is a new version of aim and that I cannot proceed to finish logging on without first downloading the new version. I've found that anything before version 5 works (v. 4.7, 4.8) but I do not care to use those versions.
I've done a few searches on this site as well as google, and have found nothing to help me with this problem. I'm sure that there must be an easy solution to this problem that I'm just not seeing for whatever reason, but any help with getting 5.2 to work on this computer would be greatly appreciated. |
