Problem Installing AIM, "skipping imagehlp.dll"?

I'M RUNNING WINDOWS 98 by the way, which I'm sure is partly to blame, but all the versions of AIM should run on win98 fine...

I first had this problem while trying to upgrade to the 5.9 version yesterday. After many different attempts, I attempted to uninstall and reinstall just to get my oder 5.5 version to work again. In my attempts to install, for any version over 4.8, the install will fail right at the start and say:

"An error occured during this installation. Try downloading the newest version of AOL IM at http://www.aim.com/redirects/inclients/patchfailure.adp do you want to go there now?"

This has happened for me for a while, but never been a problem, cause I've always downloaded the alternate version at that link and installed that for upgrades. However, this time, during the installation of the alternate version, at about 99% done, instead of saying "copying xxxxxx" file, it changes to "skipping imagehlp.dll".

At that point, it stalls and I have to end the program through task manager. Since the AIM was almost completely installed, there are icons and a folder for it and everything. If I try to run it at that point, nothing will happen. If I try to uninstall it, it can't find the uninstall file so I have to do it manually.

Which brings me back to the original problem, and my attempt to install AIM. My guess is that the files I used to download as "patch failures" in the past would work again, but they are no longer available off the AIM website, and I can't find them at oldversion.com either (cause they only have the normal install files). Does anyone know where to find them?

Any help would be GREAT. I used IM for everything I do, and need help ASAP. Thanks!

Dorian
