AIM video chat problem

Wow, Erika's first post from Feb. of 2005 and this issue is still happening! So I guess it isn't just a VISTA issue as Vista wasn't around in 2005!!! I hope that Erika figured out something and was able to see her sister's new baby!

Anyway, yes, this is still an issue however, sometimes I can get everything to work (video and talk) but most of the time it is two black screen and only one of us can hear the other.

Does anyone know if Yahoo or Window messenger works better than the AIM 6.1. Both my mom and sister are using Aim 6.1, like myself, but we still have the issues.

Hopefully by now, someone out there may have a solution???

I made an account just now to try to help you guys.

I HAD the same problem with my webcam and I think I know the solution.

While in AIM, go to "Edit" >> "Settings" (Or press F7) then go to the "Enhanced IM" tab. Look under "Audio and Video" and select the webcam of your choice for "Microphone" and "Camera".

This is how I solved my problem. Hope this helps you!

I had similar problems and gave up. I went to skype.com and downloaded the software. It is super simple and easy to use. I found it the best solution. Try that I like it so far. Anyone can use it plus its free and offers many of the same features as AIM.

Unfortunately, my crystal ball is broken. You've kindly told me you need answers, but how about giving me a little info to work with.

My psychic abilities are tuning in. I would guess it's about AIM and I'd even go so far as to say it's about video chat...but that's where it all gets a little hazy. I'm afraid I can't pick up on your AIM version, or what kind of cam, or even what operating system you are using.

If you REALLY want answers how about helping out a little here!!
