My AIM keeps crashing off of IM boxes...

when i try to IM someone or someone tries to IM me...the "AIM has encountered a problem..." message comes up and it crashes everytime...

can anyone help with this? ive contacted aim.com 3 times but theres been no response...and i did what theyre "report a problem" solution to the problem was...but it didnt help because it said remove 3 certain programs from Add/Remove Programs but they wouldnt remove......and my Ad-Aware and SpywareDoctor keeps freezing on different spots!......does anyone have any solutions on how to fix this??? (the AIM problem....i could care less about my Spyware right now)

try updating your Windows Update (the little globe in the system tray). this is only if you have XP. This happened to me and i updated and it worked. It only crashed when AOL users IMed me.

Any recent spyware get into ur system...notice and IE hijackers and anything dealing with CWS (coolwebsite)..if so i have a solution for u...i had the same problem with crashes and a piece of spyware was causing it

you can always go to tools in internet explorer then go to window updates. but listen to tylong and see if you have any spyware because that may be causing it also.

yeah ive ran SpyWare Doctor AND Ad-Aware (not at the same time) and they both freeze...Adaware frezzes after 14 objects and SpyWare Doctor freezes at 90%.... its really annoying...

i got it! SpyWare Doctor finally went past 90% and finished (that last 10% takes a while)....and it when i removed and fixed everything my AIM was restored and my internet and everything! (with my internet you HAD to type www. in order to go to that website...which was annoying....and it also put random porn sites on my favorites using the spyware called "FavoriteMan"

Microsoft's Anti-spy Tool

Neither Adaware or Spybot fixed the problem for me.

Microsoft's anti-spy tool did the trick.
