Auto response

Hi everyone!

I know that when I put up an away message, if someone IM's me it will say "Auto response from gossipingRaE." And the same thing goes with other AIM users as well. For example, if JoeSmith has an away message up and I IM him, his away message will say "Auto response from JoeSmith."

Well, my problem is this. Whenever I post an away message, it does not say "Auto response from gossipingRaE." If JoeSmith sends me an IM when my away message is up, it does not say "Auto response from gossipingRaE," but rather "Auto response from JoeSmith" or whoever else sends me the IM.

If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

what version of aim are you using? i know that was a bug a few versions back that got fixed in the next "upgrade" (only to be replaced by a new bug, of course)

if you're not using the most current version, trying "upgrading" (i use the term lightly). if you're already using the most current version, may i suggest trillian?

i'm using a pretty out of date version of AIM, only because i can use deadAIM with it. it really isn't a big deal, i was just wondering if it could be fixed. thanks though.
