screen name of friend won't show up online when i switch screen names

hello all. I have two screen names for work and for play on aol instant messenger. I have one buddy who will show up on the original list that I put him on, but when i switch screen names and he is online, I can no longer see him. The names are exactly the same on both lists, but he just does not show up. Is this a glitch on his side, or is it an issue on mine. The weird thing is that everyone else on my first list will show up when I add them to the second except my buddy. It's weird. Let me know what you think. Gracious

it can be a few things. he might have his settings different. he might have them like everyone is blocked to him execpt people on his buddy list.. or he could been playing games and blocked you
