Away Message doesn't go back up when auto-sign back on
A few days ago, I bought a new computer (HP Pavilion a1310n) and installed AIM on it. I am permanently connected to the internet through an LAN. The problem I'm having since I got this new computer is whenever there is a quick lapse in my connection (which typically happens a few times a day), AIM will sign off and then automatically reconnect, but my away message will not go back up. Is there some way to set up AIM so that it will put my away message back up automatically when it logs back on? I never seemed to have this problem with my old computer, so I'm sure there's some way to do it. Thanks for reading!

so it wasnt due to the 'quick lapses' in your connection, but due to your computer hibernating (and thus disabling the internet connection)? good to know you got your problem fixed... sorry no one could come up with a solution for you. sometimes that's just how it goes, sadly.
As I was going down the stair, I met a man who wasn't there. [ twitter ]He wasn't there again today; I wish I wish he'd go away. |
