AIM Video chat problem

Help needed. For months I was using AIM 5.9 to video chat with a iChat user on MAC. Recently, it all of a sudden stopped working, giving me the you may have a firewall issue. I have XP sp2 and norton. I know the problem is with AIM as I was able to successfully video chat the same user using yahoo messenger. I have tried the following so far with no luck:
1. In the windows firewall, AIM is selected as exception as well as tcp 2869 and UDP 1900 ports. I also allowed port 5190.
2. After that failed I tried turning off the firewall.
3. After that failed I tried turning off Norton as well.
4. I reinstalled AIM 5.9 just to be sure.
5. I ran all my spyware, adware, and virus updates.

The AIM support site says to open ports 1024 to 5000? Are they serious? How do I go about allowing these 4000 ports to be open...and why was this never a problem. I didn't change any software and I didn't change my ISP. (I forgot...I also called RoadRunner and they assured me it wasn't them blocking AIM)

Any ideas?
