Tabs and IMs problem....

Hi Guys, I apologize if this isnt in the right place, but please move it to the appropriate place if it isn't.

Anyways.... I have been using Smilez and AIM 5.9.3598 for almost a year.... it's been great. But recently it has been acting weird.

I started noticing a few days ago, when I was using smilez tabs (thats all I use it for) that the window no longer blinks when someone IMs me.... and when I have the IM window up on another tab, the icon doesnt change for when they sent me a message. And it randomly chooses when it wants to make the new msg sound when someone IMs me. It's fine when I dont run the program, and use just regular AIM, but I am lost without my tabbed IM's....

I have been looking for another program to do tabs and looking around on here.... but I have either tried everything and it hasnt worked good or what. I would prefer sticking with AIM. I have tried Trillian and GAIM and TerraIM etc... and didnt really like any one of them...

Moreover, I looked on the thread posting all the useful programs and didnt see anything that stuck out to me as new. I have tried DeadAIM and it stopped working with my AIM a while ago.... middle_man I dont like at all... and it doesnt have tabs.... and messenger:mate costs money (I am a poor college student right now.... not in my best interest). So........ I am kind of baffled at what to do..... any suggestions would help...

Here's some things I have tried to do to fix it.... I uninstalled both Smilez and AIM.... and I reinstalled each one and it does the same thing.... no flash, no nothin...

If any of these things has happened to anyone using Smilez before, or if you have an idea as to what is wrong, then let me know.... I would really really appreciate it. Maybe it isnt smilez causing this.... who knows..... but let me know if you might think it is something else.

Sorry for the long post, but I had lots of explaining to do lol... I appreciate everything guys!

oh yeah I tried that too.... yesterday.... it's kinda too unorganized. I dunno.... maybe when it gets more developed, but right now i wanna stick with AIM.... but yeah these tabs are weird.... could it be something on my computer stealing focus from it or something?? I ran all anti spyware programs and they checked out clean.....

I appreciate the post though. Thanks man

I thought I was the only one having these problems but I guess I'm not. Smilez also has been acting weird lately and this has never happened before. It not longer flashes and I'm using 5.9.3861 with Smilez Build 15 and I've tried Build 14. It used to work but now no longer works.

Well, I did notice my computer was flashing things on the taskbar strangely. like at different rates.... and other random weird stuff has been acting up with my computer, so I am just reformatting it and starting fresh.... not just because of aim.... but because my computer has been doing strange things.... so maybe this will fix AIM too...... if it's not just the program :-\

well, I haven't formatted yet, but I did try the program on my laptop and it does the same thing. no flash, no nothing.... so it's definately the program.... but I am formatting anyways cuz my comp is acting ultra strange lately... (I just thought this smiley looked funny. heh)

Sorry for the double post, but I just wanted to update everyone that it, oddly enough, started working again right before I formatted. However I formatted anyways and all is well!
