i recall there being an away message that was a formula. Meaning that if u saw one of ur buddies had their away message up, and u clicked it, and say ur name was "joeblow" as soon as u clicked it, it would say something like " sorry joeblow, but im away from my computer right now", it would customize the message according to the SN that was viewing it, i remember seeing on a tips and tricks site how to do it, but my real question is, does that away message setup, the one i just described, will that act as a profile tracker and record who views that away message, or is it just a formula that allows for it to do what it does? afterall, the message will include ur SN in it telling you the person is away, and i figured it would record those names...

You can put certain symbols in your away message that will act as variables of sorts, yes. I think, though not certain, that %n is the symbol that gets substituted with the person's username. I think %t might have been the current time, but I'm not sure.

But no, you cannot track away message or profile views without some link to an external site. It's not possible. Nothing is recorded when you view someone's profile or away message.
