Rate limited while trying to enter chats

Hi, I'm new on the forums.

Recently, I've been having a problem while trying to enter AIM chatrooms on AIM 6.8. For the record, I KNOW what being rate limited is. It's when you send to many messages in a short amount of time and need to be slowed down.

However, this is different. Even when I haven't IMed anyone for hours and have signed out/in multiple times, it still gives me the following message when trying to enter a chat:

Rate limited. Please try again later.

It's been about a day since this started and hasn't stopped since. I would appreciate any help on the matter.

When you are chat limited. It takes over 24 hours to be gone. I am sorry to inform you that you cannot join a chat room for 24 hours. I think you can live.

But, if you must join a chat room, just go on a different screen name for a day. I think chat rooms are pointless because all of the AIM skiddies (script kiddies) and there AIM chat owners, and cloners. Cloners are used to lag/punt you offline, our out of the chatroom.

Just a week ago, I was in chat3. I know a few people in there. The chat room owner dropped (disconnected from the chat due to the person who was hosting the owner's connection has disconnected) and there was 3 people in there, me , PonyGirl201, and Chat Savior ( I think this was an idler. An idler is a program somebody runs to out idle somebody in a chat room to get ownership. Idle means, go away.. or in other words, go in there and out wait the other person.)

So they botted the chatroom, with my AIM security they could not get me out, so I got over 400 messages from there bots trying to get me out.. I was working and I come home to these messages, and lags, and errors. I just love how they had the chat filled with 35 bots, and I was the only remainer. The good guy I am, I just idled in there, so they COULD NOT get ownership. As of today, I still am in this chat, and they are still trying. Just one fact of how ridiculous AIM people are.

The only reason I am there, is so they can't get it. My satisfaction =)

They will never knock me out with my security. Want this security? It can put a LOCK next to your screen name to.

This sounds much like what we need to control a chat room. We host regular games, and some kid has been bombarding the room with rows and rows of smileys and dozens of different screennames. It has caused some problems with the room, and various players can't send text. I would drop you a message on "brrr" as you asked, but I don't know what that means.
