Was hacked and now can't delete from buddy list

My AOL account was recently hijacked. I had to reformat my computer to get the trojan/virus that had compromised security and it is since secured. The problem is that there are all these groups and people on my buddy list that i AM UNABLE TO REMOVE. I have groups like NYC, Friends and Flirts, Amor Latino and Universal Chat. Whenever I try to delete a group name or person on the group I get the following:

ERROR: SSIException:Error removing group from list:Error adding item (invalid id, already in list, invalid data)

Can anyone suggest a fix? It's very annoying.

Thanks,

2xfox

Hello and welcome to BBB! First, let me tell you I don't use AOL, but obviously you have what would appear on the surface to be a rather standard looking type error. However, when I do a Google search I don't find much information. I found one other forum post with a similar error with regard to adding contacts in an IM client, although no solution.

The error appears to be a Java exception. I don't know much about Java, but as you just reformatted your computer I might offer one possible suggestion if you haven't already done so - and that would be to make sure you have the latest Java version for your computer.

To check please go to the Sun Java website and test your version. You may also download an updated version from there if you need to. The latest stable build is 6.07 I believe.

I'm not at all sure this will fix the problem, but with the limited information available, I certainly don't think it could hurt. Can you please post back and let me know if it helps?

java

Just downloaded and installed the latest version of java. I am still unable to delete groups and or names. I feel like this is some kind of exploit. I really wish someone gives me some advice on fixing the issue. Thank you for the try though.
