Recovering passwords/info from very old screen names

I have a few very old AIM screen names. One in particular is about 10 years old at least. I've no idea what the password for it could be, and the email accounts linked to the screen name no longer exist (not just the email account, but the entire email service is no more).

I am hoping there is a way to recover this information... if there is hope, please let me know.

Thank you!

Without the email associated with the account, you're up a creek without a paddle.

But you might try registering them as new screen names. According to AOL, they periodically expire inactive screen names, and they become available again for new users.

It's not the screen name I care about. It's the contact list associated with it.

Are you telling me that even if the screen name still holds my old information, I will never, ever be able to access it again no matter what I do? AOL/AIM will not allow any other way for me to identify that it is indeed MY screen name?

Not unless you have the information to somehow recover it. If you don't, then it's as good as gone really.
