As far as I know, you can't import settings from 5.x to 6.0.

If you're having problems with deadaim, you could give middle_man a whirl, which supports up to 5.9.6089:
middle_man :: enhancing your instant messenger since '02

I still prefer the AIM5 series, personally.

I can't remember which version, specificially, but I think deadaim only officially supported up to 5.2.3139. There were so many versions in the AIM5 series, I may have mixed a minor.build together.

I've had no problems with AIM 5.5.3595 and DeadAIM. Everything works fine.
