Can Recieve Texts But Can't Reply

I have been using AIM to text people with regularity and never had an issue before.

When texting people, it says they are offline. The window the suggest that I send this mobile number a text (which I did try but to no use). When sending messages, the
window then tells me they are not available.

I thought maybe it was an issue with one particular person, but I tried it on every mobile on my list. I recieve their texts with no problem vut can not respond.

I tried reloading my buddylist and had the same problem. I created a new screen name, same issue. I tried reinstalling AIM...

Nothing seems to work.

Help, please?

How long has the problem been going on? Did it just start in the last day or so?

Yeah. It started sometime yesterday.

Based on a couple other posts I've seen, I'd suspect it's a server side thing and not something with your computer. I'd give it 24 hours and see if it resolves on it's own.

it is effecting pidgin, aol and aim from what i can tell, i have ubuntu and use pidgen , my wife has xp and aol , my father in law has xp and aim and none of us can send a text message to a moble phone in less it is routed through aol forwarding .

Great! I'll wait to hear and I'll keep an eye on the other forums in case I see anything new about the issue. Looks like it's been going on for a few days now actually.

ok aol mobile is down chated with them this morning, they know it has been down since Saturday and said they are working on it

The problem seems to have fixed itself for the most part but goes on the fritz every once in a while. In those cases, signing on and off a couple of times seems to solve the problem.

Sounds like intermittent server side issues. Just be patient and I'm sure they will fix them eventually.
