Ultimate Questions

When I was in Year 9, we had an assessment on 8 ultimate questions, we were suppossed to give our views about them, so I though I would open my "Religious Studies" class here. It'd be cool.

So, here are the eight "Ultimate Questions":
~* Is there a God?
~* Who made the world?
~* Were we created for a reason?/Why am I here?
~* What happens when I die?
~* Do we have one life on earth or many?
~* Do we have a soul?
~* Why do people suffer?
And it would be good if you give a conclusion at the end, I will post my answers up tomorrow whenever I finish typing them up.

I thought it would be good to have a little dibate about these. It is interesting to know what others believe. So, please listen to your heart, and write what it says. Be honest. Give the answer you believe is right. There is no wrong answer.

I managed to type up some answers, so here they are...

Is there a God?
There is a God, I believe in Him, because I think he exists. Well, if we think carefully about it, who made us? who made the world? who made the universe? who had the idea of having two sexes to grow the population?
There is only one answer, "GOD!"
Well there's obviuosly a power who created all of this and still manages the universe, it can't be created by itself. WE call this power "GOD!"
We can't prove that there is a God. It depends on what we believe in. Different people have different beliefs. They've all got their own name for Him:
Hundus call Him BRAHMAN
Sikhs call Him TRUTH or just GOD
Muslims call him ALLAH
Christians & Jews obviuosly call Him GOD (the father)

Most of us believe that He is OMNIPOTENT! When we think about Him, we must have these points in our mind:
1. Who gave us the six senses? How can we taste, smell, see, hear, feel and what about telephathy?
2. Who changed days into nights and the nights into days?
3. Who manages the system of universe?
If we think carefully about the above points, these suggest that there is such a power, who does all of this, whatever we call Him, He'll stay the same. He is Holy, that He is different from all of us.
We worship Him, because some of us believe that He is someone or something very special to be worshiped.
He is omnipotent, He is someone very special who can exist everywhere at the same time. It all depends on our beliefs!
No-one can prove that He actually exists!!!


Who made the world?
I believe that God made the world, because there must be a power who created all of this, it can't be created by itself, can it?
People may believe that it was something to do with science, but i think science and religions are connected to each other in many ways. Some people believe that it was just an action of the universe, "Big Bang", but I don't agree!
Christians believe that God created it, so do Sikhs, Hindus, Jews & Muslims. I, as a Muslim, personally believe that HE is the one who created it and still controls everything.

And these are ofcourse my views ONLY.

Please keep in mind that these are just my opinions as well. There is no such thing as a "right opninion". Oxymoron, no?

Is there God?
Nobody really knows for sure, you can only think you know. Personally, I'm hesitant in putting all my life's entrust and beliefs in the hands of someone who's existence is debatable. I don't deny the possibility that deities may exist somewhere out there, but at the moment, I don't see enough proof.

As well, through my eyes, religions tend to conflict eachother in terms of the existence of God.

"The God of all is the One God. There is no god but He." (The-Qur’ an, 20:98)
"Thou shalt have no other gods before Me." (The Bible, First Commandment)

Etc. etc.

Who made the world?
Why Mr. Big-Bang-of-dust-and-dirt-and-gases-and-yucky-stuff of course!

Were we created for a reason? Why am I here?
To reproduce?

What happens when I die?
My body becomes cold and stale.

Do we have one life on earth or many?
Just one.

Do we have a soul?
Not according to my books.

Why do people suffer?
Others cannot comprehend and tame their own emotions.

My Opinions (some of them wishes ) are as follows:

Is there a God?
Yes sure is. I don't think there are several Gods, each one of one religion. But I do believe there's a supernatural power which guides and controls each of our actions. Even though some people might say "You are responsible for your actions", I still believe a force guides us on whatever we do

Who made the world?
I wish it was me . There would have been much more chaos . J/K. I believe the world was created by some miraculous mystery by the supernatural force called God.

But I am sure He regrets creating it now .

Were we created for a reason?
Not sure. Well maybe, we are the result of an experiment that failed miserably. Anyways all that matters is that we are here and LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST BEFORE YOU END UP DEAD.

What happens when I die?
The world survives . Well maybe, I'll be made into a beautiful angel who'll go around changing lives . lol

Seriously speaking, I am scared about this. When I die, will I just vanish, cease to exist? I am not scared of death but its the "after death" I am afraid of. I don't believe in hell and heaven. I believe we make our own hell and heaven right here on earth while we are alive. So who knows? Not me, lets wait and see <sighs>

Do we have one life on earth or many?
One is enough Thanks. Atleast as a human being. I don't mind becoming a sweet little rabbit in my next life or maybe a butterfly . Atleast then life will be short and sweet. Main thing No WORK or STUDIES

Seriously, I think we have only one life. So make most of it .

Do we have a soul?
I wonder. I wonder if my soul will get released from my body and attain salvation (whatever that is) when I die. Frankly, I don't know and don't care.

Why do People have to suffer?
One might even ask, why there's joy in the world? We have to go through all sorts of emotions to enjoy the experience called LIFE. If you are alive, it implies you go through the set of emotions. When there's suffering, later might come happiness. Without suffering, you might not understand the value of happiness. Don't you agree?

My Conclusion
I think we are a very very MINOR part in a HUGE universe. Instead of simply speculating who started it and how its gonna end, we better LIVE. Fill your loved ones' lives with LOVE, for they might not be there tomorrow. Who knows, you might not be there tomorrow.

One only, make the most of it, harm nobody, criticize nobody for you may be eternally wrong, live a good life and with luck you may be remembered long after you are gone.

No. Though you have a conscience which is often confused as a soul.

Why are some lucky? it's the law of averages, chaos is limited by the law of averages.

Live your life now, your hell is within you, a thinking mans relief can only be achieved throughy insanity. Think about it.

OK, I don't usually like throwing out my religious/political views, but I was bored so i thought what the hell.

Remember - the following view is blah blah blah don't get pissed at me for blah blah blah its just my dumb ass opinion.

There are many religions and beliefs out there. Some make sense, most of em don't. There is probably one out there somewhere that makes sense for you, will you ever find it? I haven't found or looked hard enough for one right for me, and maybe there isn't one. Too many holes and unexplained gaps appear when I think of the Bible and how we were all created. I'm not deeply religious and I don't care if you are or not, just don't try to push it on me - keep it to yourself, I don't want or need to be "saved". On to the Ultimate Questions (cue ominous sounding music)

The only God I know goes by the name of Dave Grohl. I think I would rather subscribe to a belief that some strange advanced alien race created us as an experiment.

~* Who made the world?
Honestly I don't care. Its here, it works, I enjoy it.

~* Were we created for a reason?/Why am I here?
Nope/Evolution

~* What happens when I die?
It gets kinda dark. All I care about is life, and living it to the fullest. If some **** happens after death, well it'll either be good or bad, but at least I can say I lived.

~* Do we have one life on earth or many?
Well since I don't remember having any other lives before now, either I'm on my first or there ain't anymore. And if you don't get to remember your previous lives, then whats the point of giving us another?

~* Do we have a soul?
Sure, but I don't think of a soul as some white glow of light that pops out of you when you die. I think of soul as strong emotion/feeling. Kind of like a musician/artist type thing.

~* Why do people suffer?
Cuz stuff hurts, if everything felt good we'd all be pretty messed up. Ya - it sucks that you gotta suffer sometimes, but I think a bit of suffering is necessary in life. How can you learn to grow as a person without some bad stuff happening.

The being I refer to as God.

I believe we were created to be companions for God. I talk to him everyday...I hope he is listening and likes the conversation. I think i will know someday.

I believe I will be with God...face to face for the next phase of my existence.
~* Do we have one life on earth or many?
I believe we have one life here and one life after...if God chooses us to be an eternal companion.
~* Do we have a soul?
Yes...I believe our soul is what will go to be with God if chosen.

I don't know...I'll ask God when I see him.
