That's pretty interesting. That thing about the Wizard of Oz is false though, you can read more about it here.
I'm not sure where people got the idea that someone or something in the background died, though.

fwiw, a page including many of the Disney gags mentioned here. You be the judge if they're subliminal or not.

Yeah, the whole thing with that though, is if you are an older member (as in your 20s or older), you probably have the old VHS versions of these movies. I do. I know that I've seen some of those gags done.
Some of the teens of this community may have the DVD versions of the movies, therefore, might not be able to catch it. I know what I saw and heard ![]() EDIT: okay, trying to find some decent sites. This one is for the Lion King.http://www.animatedbuzz.com/WB/36.html and after you see and read the text, scroll down to the bottom, there are other ones about the Little Mermaid and The Rescuers and so forth. As it mentions in all of the text, they are apparent from the old version of the VHS tapes. ~*rae*~

Yes this one is really big, if you watch late night tv you'll see it alot. If any of you watch the tonight show with Jay Leno, there is a subliminal 4 created by lighting in the background.
![]() Also if anyone has seen fightclub, you will notice some frames in which brad pitt's character appears then dissapears. Last edited by ys8er2323; 06-11-2005 at 07:55 PM. |

Hrmm... I've never seen anything "Subliminal" in movies, or TV. ... Technically, I wouldn't know because true Subliminal triggers the sub-concious, not concious mind. But, anyhow, No.
I've heard about this in movies though. According to my 8th Grade Science Teacher, the Movie theaters added subliminal messages all the time into movies. Heres how it worked: You finally go out and see that movie you've been wanting to see. So, you're sitting there, right, and all of a sudden, you -think- you saw some words flash on the screen. "Did I just see... No, it's my imagination." After a while, you see it a few times. Then, you feel thirsty all of a sudden. "Hey I think I'll go get a Drink!" The Movie theaters blended in phrases such as "YOU ARE THIRSTY" and "YOU ARE HUNGRY" to get potential movie-watchers to buy drinks and snacks from their concession stands to make more money, untill the F.C.C. caught up on it, BAN. It was pretty effective while it lasted. People even use Subliminal Messages for therapy, relaxation, to quit smoking, all sorts of things.
