Well...Sami's story about having that child watch it then start stripping...well...interesting. I don't know how much I really believe all the disney stuff...I mean with the Aladin, I didn't hear it until I really looked. One thing I thought was interesting...I saw a commercial that was for Sprite which started off saying "Subliminal Messages" then it would go to "Sublymenal" and flicker back and fourth quickly. Then, they showed a guy resting or something, you know when they have the cucumbers over their eyes...except it was limes! They were basicly just throwing it out there as a joke, but hey, it was interesting. I still don't want to drink it though.

"Did I just see... No, it's my imagination." After a while, you see it a few times. Then, you feel thirsty all of a sudden. "Hey I think I'll go get a Drink!"

The Movie theaters blended in phrases such as "YOU ARE THIRSTY" and "YOU ARE HUNGRY" to get potential movie-watchers to buy drinks and snacks from their concession stands to make more money, untill the F.C.C. caught up on it, BAN. It was pretty effective while it lasted.
if you check the beginning of the thread, i mentioned this and how it was just a hoax.

As I was going down the stair, I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today; I wish I wish he'd go away.

Opps, my apologies Tom.
Guess my former Science teacher was wrong.

I don't know if it was ment to be a subliminal messege or not, but in the original Wizard of Oz movie, when they're walking down the Yellow Brick Road, there's a man haging from a noose in the background.

I was wondering why this thread had so many views -- it's the third result on Google for "Subliminal messages in movies".. neat!

But, one interesting thing: I watch my neice sometimes and we watched Aladin once when she was about 2 years old. And during one part she just started stripping for no reason at all. I thought she was being funny, even though she's never done that before, not even as a baby. Funny thing was that it was at that balcony scene. I didn't hear about that until later from a friend, then we listened and what do you know...kind of funny. I thought it sounded more like "girls" instead of "teenagers" but, eh, whatever, it's really rushed.

I think of "subliminal messages" are those little pictures that they were talking about. Right, most movies are shown at 30 frames a second, and even at one little frame you can catch it sometimes. Like the "cigarette burns" they talk about in fight club and such. Those are just one frame long. (Spent way too much time in TV production class and the station) Whether they work or not is a matter of opinion.

But those aren't the only things that can have subliminal messages in them. Audio tracks can. My mother worked for a woman who owned a massage parlor once. During massages they play music, you know, that whole "Ah-ah-ahhhh..." serene feeling going on. Well, there are two audio tracks in everything you hear on TV and cassettes. (Two audios, heheh...learned that in TV production too!). And one track on her tapes was music and such, the other were little things, people saying "Oh, that feels good" and other relaxing mantras, things like that. Who knows if they ever worked or if it was just the massueses, but *shrug* eh.
came accross!

Yeah, Most of the movie producers want their agenda to show up in their films. The way they make money and get their views across to everyone. The biggest problem is that most of the general public starts to believe that is how life is and should be.
