Definately a joke. Would be cool though.
Does Google really think 1000MB = 1GB?

I dont think its a joke. If you click the link http://gmail.google.com/ there's alot more info about it. Also you can even submit your email adress if you wanna be notified of more updates. So I dunno.

The greatest prank is one you think might be true.
Heck, it's widespread enough that it is very possible it is true. This article pretty much seals the deal now: http://money.cnn.com/2004/04/01/tech...mail/index.htm I guess it must be true? Nah, I'm more convinced than ever its a prank. You can't even get free webspace that offers 1000MB, how would google handle millions of 1000MB email accounts, its ridiculous. Sorry I did not notice this topic before I posted mine.
It sounds so true, but who knows it's an April fool. I fooled so many people that I am getting used to it now. Plus, if it wasn't an April Fool joke, other sites wouldn't have been talking about it: - http://slashdot.org/articles/04/04/0...tid=126&tid=95 - http://news.com.com/2100-1032_3-5182805.html (Much more detailed article) But again, these sites are being fooled, so we can't really say. It does sound unrealistic. I agree, how can they handle millions of people creating accounts? Even if they do, how can they stop people from creating more than one account? Public now-a-days have many tricks to get through sites' "one account policy". I am also more convinced that it's a prank. Good one though! |

Google's newly announced free email service is not a hoax the company says. I guess we have to waot a few more days to see if this Google Email is still around.

Yah, I was just starting to think that too. If google had said they were offering 50 MB of mail space, I don't think anyone would have blinked an eye and thought it was a joke, but using such a large amount as 1000MB really catches your attention. Plus, it looks like they are planning on using AdSense to offset there storage costs, which is pretty cheap these days.
So, this is either there biggest April Fools joke yet, or a very smart advertising campaign! Well, I know one thing for sure - I won't hesitate to sign up.
