    [REVIEW] Shaun of the Dead

I've never been a big fan of horror movies, although I'll watch the better ones. I admit that I screamed outloud in the theater when I say Jack Nicholson jump out from behind a column and axe the maintenance guy in The Shining (yes, I am that old).

I recently rented 28 Days Later, a modern-day zombie flick that takes place in London, and I really enjoyed that. Not your typical slasher-style horror movie (the kind I really don't get into).

But Tuesday night I saw something really good. A zombie-horror-comedy called Shaun of the Dead. It's billed as a romantic comedy, with zombies, and did not disappoint. A great cast, including a small part for Bill Nighy as Shauns ghoulish-looking step-dad (Nighy ALWAYS looks like a ghoul to me).

The point? We are all sometimes the "walking dead" -- just going through the motions of our lives and not really living. And sometimes we just need to get off the couch and get on with... killing zombies!

    I give it 4/5 smilies --

Heh, that film is great! The highlight is where he walks to the shop and back without realising that Zombies have taken over the city. Also, the part where they choose which LPs to throw at the zombies is classic.

    "Dire Straits?"
    "Throw it!"

    Finally...

"Player two has entered the game"
    "Havn't you got work?"
"Player two has left the game"

I'd recommend that you see this film!
If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

All hail Shaun of the Dead!

Very funny... I recommend you all see it... there are some classic scenes which are well worth seeing.. particularly the LP sequence...
