New dvd copy protection coming out !!!

Macrovision already finished creating a new copy protection called "RipDVD Guard" and soon it will be available on new releases. This copy protection prevents people from using any software to rip or copy movies. Certainly not good for people who want to make a back-up copy of movies they bought in case the original went bad or just using the copy and safe-stored the original.

But not all protection is 100%...so I guess sooner or later, there will be a way around it =P

Just something I want to share =)

Whoa I hope that this is not true. Because I just wasted $100 on DVD-R's to burn my DVD's to.

Well whatever DVD's you have now don't have this protection so you can still do what you want with them. It still hasn't been released yet. I bought a DVD burner for Christmas and it works like a charm. Helps me keep a huge backup of my best programs and stuff. I know I could get an external harddrive but I rather have them on a cd. I don't really use the burner to copy my movies or anything cuz I'm a good boy and all. *Cheesy Grin*

Hope Hollywood not going to implement this new copy-protection any time soon. For right now everything can be copied including the new protection from Sony for movies such as Resident Evil: Apocalypse, The Forgotten, and Little Black Book. DVD Shrink is the best but it is not really up-to-date, so it will not work with Sony protection. The new RipDVD Guard, I heard it will be 3 protections in 1 =/
