Me too. Why would you want two hard drives on one computer anyway?

Two 500GB drives are much cheaper than one 1TB drive. Also, multiple drives allow you to isolate your operating system and your media so that playing music in the background while you use your computer will not affect performance by requiring the same hard drive read head to alternate back and forth between reading music and reading OS/program data.

In my case, I have multiple operating systems, so an additional drive adds the value of protecting one operating system if the HDD that the other one is on dies.

I suppose if you build your own PC, that would be a smart way to go.

I've had multiple drives in the past, but don't at the moment. And frankly, I prefer having a single drive with a single partition... and LOTS of RAM. It's much easier to manage disk space.

But multiple drives does make sense if you want to optimize performance.
