Just fill me in quickly on the past four years of forum history

Hey everybody,

It seem's though that waking up after my four year nap (also known as university) the forum has changed drastically in my absence... what the hell happened!!!

DJ Hyperbyte's no longer a mod! Rabid Kitten has not swallowed the forum with her madness! Sarahtownie is no longer everyones mum! Assorted other people have disappeared to the great iceberg in the sky! New individuals have ascended too modgod status! What's going on?????

Please fill me in on the numerous exciting events of the last four years please

Interesting that you should post this, right as I also happen to log in for the first time... in years, I think?

I'm open to the same questions.

DJ Hyperbyte was chased away by a psychotic sphenisciforme. RabidKitten is doing god-knows-what in Vegas. Sarahtownie is still a mum, but sticking to just her two boys for now. Others have gone on to new adventures, too. And new people have come in take their place.

It's the ying and the yang of the forum world. A time for everything, and everything in its time. The circle of life. Kumbahyah, and all that.

We still have some members we can't get rid of no matter what we try (ahem, detn8r). And we occasionally get surprise blast-from-the-past visits from someone like yourself who hasn't been around in -- what -- four years!? Wow!

But it's fun to see how things change, and how people change, too.

By the way, we are planning an informal BigBlueBall meetup in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 12th. If you (and by that I mean YOU -- or ANYONE) can make it, send me a PM and I'll give you the details.

It's always gotta be on the opposite end of the country from me, doesn't it? Vegas? C'mon now. I mean, I'd love to see Vegas (never been), but geez. Some of us have these pesky 9-to-5 (more like 7-to-5) jobs.

Grr.

Though, to be fair, Wisconsin isn't the greatest meeting place either.

As I was going down the stair, I met a man who wasn't there.

Hehe...following in AwesomeSauce's wake, I'll poke out my rare-to-log-on nose too. I do lurk around here still, from time to time, but I definitely wouldn't call myself active (except in the arcade ). I try, but life gets busy I suppose...especially when you work full time during the day and go to school at night.

I can't really answer what has happened in the past four years here...I have been a bit MIA. I do still talk to DJ Hyperbyte from time to time, though. Last time I checked he was doing rather well.

Too bad I cannot make it to the Las Vegas meet-up. I don't live too terribly far away from Vegas, but I'll be far away on the east coast Sep 12th for a cereal chemists convention </nerd>

Okay, so after finding three BBBers dropped in my back yard, I was LURED back. Not quite kicking and screaming, but Penguin! Awwwwww. sniff* He misses my madness. How devlishly deliciously divine.

Rest assured, as you might notice, I've been stomping around the forums a little bit and dragging up old threads that make absolutely no difference or sense. YAY!

No, I probably can't help you.
But I might be able to make you laugh and forget that you just nuked 16 hours of photoshop work.
