YM - "View the Profile of xxxxxx"
Click someone's BBB Profile, then their YM Id. This brings up the "Send message to..." window.
The View Profile link there appears substandard to me It goes to members.yahoo.com/interests?.oc=t&.kw=xxxxxx&.sb=1 which is really a Member Search, and THEN one must view profile from there. In some/most cases the Member Search doesn't even find the person. A simple profiles.yahoo.com/xxxxxx avoids both these anomalies.Examples, using 2 BBB eagles :-Eagle_Kiwi CAN be found whereas aneagle001 CAN'T be found (and neither can Jeff) while the alternative simpler format finds them all easily, AND indeed DOES show their Profiles, not their "Member Search" results: http://profiles.yahoo.com/eagle_kiwi http://profiles.yahoo.com/aneagle001 http://profiles.yahoo.com/reallyoldbastard |

??? It has that there already in vBulletin Spike, exactly as you suggest. ???
Though it doesn't have another option, to ADD this person to your YM list. I notice that vBulletin DOES have such an option for MSN at least - but I guess there's some reason the same can't be applied to YM. |

EagleKiwi: I've updated the link so that it opens the Yahoo profile directly instead of performing a search. I couldn't find anything stating why vBulletin set things up that way to begin with.
Can we call this bug squished and celebrate with a cold beverage? Last edited by Jeff; 10-17-2005 at 07:34 PM. |
