Oh, another very minor problem with Firefox and Mozilla in general, favicons do not work well. But that is just a cosmetic issue.

I have tried downloading Java (java.com) required for Mozilla Firefox - but java.com seems to be down all the times. Is there any other java clients that will work with the browser other than Sun's Java?

EDIT: I was able to download Sun Java Runtime at tucows.com. I must say I am not happy with Sun Java Runtime being installed on MSIE 6 when I only want it for Mozilla Firefox!

EDIT: Oops! I didn't realize I have the option in Java control panel to turn that feature off for MSIE.

I just decided to delete my Mozilla Firefox bookmarks and it only took me less than five minutes to get the bookmarks imported from MSIE. You should try following this: http://www.mozilla.org/docs/end-user...d.html#oh-yeah (you will have to scroll down a little bit to see the MSIE instruction - good luck!

I for one will still keep Firebird around for a while. I like that you don't have to install it. Works real nice on my old backup computer (better than IE!).

If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?

I highly suggest Avant browser over this. It loads faster, has more features, is more user-friendly, and is built around IE, not netscape. Meaning that I have found it to be much more compatible with sites than Mozilla's browsers. You also don't need to fetch seperate plugins for things like flash and java like mozilla does, as anything that works with IE works with Avant. The only thing I havent found to work is microsoft update services, wich also doesn't seem to work with any other browser.

And to let some of you know, Microsoft has slightly redone IE, adding a popup blocking service and a few other features. This will come out in Windows XP SP2...

I like the new Firefox but its just not quite there yet. I use MyIE2 and its intutiveness with opening tabs is second to none. I used to use Avant and it was decent, but IMO MyIE2 blows it out of the water.

I'd use Firefox more if I could adjust the tabs to the bottom and force all links to open in tabs as the default. I'd rather ctrl-click only when I wanted regular windows. Other than that it's a great second browser.
