Errors using Outlook Express on XP Pro

Hi everyone,

I'm using Windows XP Pro and Outlook Express for e-mail. I'm getting errors. My password is rejected. I changed my password and I don't want to create another account or change my account. I keep getting prompted for password with an OK or Cancel so when I click OK it keeps prompting me for password and when I click Cancel I get errors. Any other time when my e-mail is working I never get prompted for password. When I changed my password that didn't work I still got errors. My errors will be below.


There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'mail.epix.net', Server: 'mail.epix.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR mail storage services unavailable, wait a few minutes and try again.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92


How can I fix the errors?? Any help would be appreciated ASAP. Thanx everyone.

Have you contacted your ISP? It may be a problem on there side.

Sometimes it isn't there side. I used to get this a few times. In Outlook Express, go to Tools > Accounts. Click on your account, and hit Properties.* Click on the Servers tab, and check to make sure that you Incoming and Outgoing mail servers match with your provider's. If you don't know them, they are usually listed in the Help section on their site. If that isn't the case, follow the directions above up until the star, then click on the Advanced tab. Sometimes the Incoming/Outgoing ports are different. Those should also be listed on your Provider's website. If those don't work, then most likely there is a problem with your provider.

UPDATE::
For the Servers tab use the following:
Incoming: in.epix.net
Outgoing: out.epix.net

For the Advanced tab:
Click on the Use Default button for the port #'s.
