Can't install Windows 2000
Motherboard: Aladdin 5 2A5KKSMCC-00 Award Bios V4.51PG A586B VER: A.7. AMD-K6(tm)-2 CPU clock 400. 80GB hard drive. Spent hours and hours yesterday trying to install Windows 2000 Pro. Formatted hd and went from there. First part of install goes just fine. Computer restarts and I end up back at the very beginning of the installation. A screen pops up stating something about partitioning hd. I can choose any of the displayed choices and try to go from there and I end up going back through the above stated over and over again but it will not install! I have used this cd on other systems and it works just fine. From what I was able to find, this mb is 2000 compatible. I have no idea how to fix this problem. HELP!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE???????

First of all, the description of your problem is very vague. 'Something about partition' and 'went from there'? Please describe us exactly what you do.
At this point I can give one advice though. The most common cause of setup 'repeating' itself is because people do not eject the CD-ROM from the drive. They get a message 'Press any key to boot from CD-ROM'. They press any key automatically and just re-run setup without realizing. |
