i dont know about locking your wallpaper, but you could just lock your user account so they can't login to your account (assuming you have XP)
Is there a way to lock your wallpaper? I would like to know, since some of my family members like to change my wallpaper every so often![]()

As I was going down the stair, I met a man who wasn't there.[ forum guidelines | posting policy | please search first ]
He wasn't there again today; I wish I wish he'd go away.
First set the wallpaper exactly how you want it.
Start > Run > Type "regedit" > Run.
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ ActiveDesktop.
Right-click in right pane and select New DWORD Value.
Name this new DWORD NoChangingWallpaper and set the value to be 1.
Reboot your computer. The wallpaper option should be disabled. To re-enable it, set the DWORD value to be 0 or delete the DWORD altogether (don't forget to reboot).

Active desktop isn't there, spike. I'm using windows 2000 () by the way.

Instead of ActiveDesktop, is "Explorer" there? If so, put it in there. (Ideally you should be using Windows XP, this hasn't been tested on Win2k)

Once you are in Policies you can make a Key and name it ActiveDesktop and it should do the same.
I just tried it and it worked perfectly. It shouldn't be any different for you because 2000 is an NT system.
