Firefox add-ons

I ended up getting a nasty virus last night that my AV couldn't remove so I ended up formatting .. was due anyways.

Unfortunately, I thought copying the old Firefox folder from Program Files and replacing it with the newly installed one would restore my favorites, tabs & add-ons.. but I was wrong. Now I gotta find all my settings I had taken years to perfect.

Was curious, does anyone have any recommendations for add-ons to use here? I currently have the following installed:

Adblack Plus
Canadian English Dictonary
ColourfulTabs
CustomizeGoogle
Download Statusbar
Firefox Companion for eBay
Greasemonkey
IE Tab
Nuke Anything Enhanced
Smart Bookmarks Bar
SmoothWheel
Yahoo! Mail Notifier

Does anyone know of the add-on that lets me upload images to a file sharing host? I believe it was called Image Bot or something?

Also, I'm looking for two Opera-style options that I'm hoping someone knows of that might be add-ons here.......
1- "paste & go" .. paste a web address and have it load, rather than pasting an address, then having to hit enter or the arrow.
2- the page magnifier that magnifies the whole page, including images & text.. and not just one or the other.

Preferences are stored in 'Applicaion Data' on XP, and AppData on Vista. Most modern programs work this way, saving whats in program files is little more than what the installer puts in place.

I use:

Adblock Plus - obvious choice.
Delicious Bookmarks - the official del.icio.us firefox extension.
Greasemonkey - pretty well known. lets you run custom scripts on certain sites. I have quite a few del.icio.us-related userscripts.
Tab Clicking Options - extends the options you have for tab browsing, like middle-click behavior, etc.
URL Link - lets you highlight a url within a document and go to that page (say someone just typed out a URL or site name without making it clickable) in various forms like .org, .net, whatever.

I use Adblock Plus and let me say to anyone not using it and using Firefox it is a must download. It filters out virtually every ad on a website. It will prompt you when it updates, And when you first install it, it downloads a filter to block the ads and then your done except for the periodical update.

  • Down them all! the mass downloader for Firefox
  • Fission Progress bar in the address bar (Safari style)
  • McAfee Site Advisor for safe searching and browsing
  • Navigational Sounds plays the "click" sound from IE when clicking a link
